Our Mission
To provide affordable and comprehensive quality health care to the members of our community
while assisting with the clinical education of nurse practitioners, physicians, and allied health
professionals.
Who We Are
Silver City Health Center is in the Argentine community, and serves Wyandotte County citizens
of all ages, providing primary care, chronic care support, expanded services and health education
to those without insurance, as well as those who have government or private insurance coverage.
We are nurse practitioners, physicians, other health professionals, and students from KU Schools of
Nursing, Allied Health, and Medicine.
What Our Clinic Offers
- General primary care for patients of all ages
- Well baby, well child, well adolescent exams, and well adult exams including pelvic examinations for females
- Physicals for day care, school, sports, and work
- Immunizations for all ages, including tetanus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Gardasil, and flu shots
- Screenings – vision, hearing, blood pressure
- Tests – pregnancy, strep throat, cholesterol, stool (fecal) test, ECG, and spirometry (breathing function)
- Treatment of illness including sore throat, ear ache, cough, colds, infections, and minor illness
- Chronic conditions managed: diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and arthritis
- Minor surgical procedures
- Onsite counseling with a Registered Dietician, or Registered Physical Therapist
- Offsite referrals: dental, OB, mental health, substance abuse, and others

How to Pay
Silver City Health Center has been serving the community since 1997 by providing quality,
affordable health care services for all ages regardless of their ability to pay and without regard to citizenship and immigrant status.
We accept most insurance:
- Private Insurance - (verify with your insurance provider that visits to our clinic are covered)
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- HealthWave (Children's Mercy Family Health Partners and UniCare)
- Kansas Statewide Farmworker Health Program
- Project Eagle
Sliding Fee Scale (self-pay):
- Based on total household income. Proof of income is required.
- For services provided at the clinic only (including lab tests).
- Only available to Kansas residents.
- A SCHC patient on the sliding fee scale may be eligible for a one-time 20% cash payment discount at the first (initial) visit.
Limited medication assistance and radiology assistance are available for those who qualify.
Documents Needed for Sliding Fee Scale
- Proof of income for everyone in the household
- last year's taxes and/or two month's pay stubs
- if you have neither taxes nor pay stubs, a notarized letter from whoever is paying your bills, stating
you live with them and they are paying your bills
- if working and receive cash income, a notarized letter stating wages from your employer
- if the employer won't write a letter, a notarized self-written statement of your earnings
- verification of other income sources: Social Security, child support, unemployment, VA or pensions
- Proof of your mailing address (recent bill)
