Silver City Health Center offers affordable, high-quality primary care, in-depth clinical evaluation, and a range of program-specific health services to English and Spanish-speaking residents of Wyandotte and Johnson counties. The clinic provides primary health care and health education resource access to individuals without insurance, as well as to those with government or private health insurance coverage.
Located in the Argentine community of Kansas City, Kan. (map), the center employs skilled health care professionals from the KU Schools of Health Professions, Medicine and Nursing.

General primary care for patients of all ages
Preventative care for children and adults of all ages
Treatment of common acute illnesses such as upper respiratory infection, sore throat, ear ache, cough, colds, etc.
Chronic conditions management for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and arthritis
Immunizations for all ages, including tetanus, hepatitis A and B, HPV, influenza, pneumonia, with many provided at no cost via the Kansas Vaccines for Children Program
Physicals for day care, school, sports, and work
Screenings: vision, hearing, blood pressure
Tests for pregnancy, strep throat, cholesterol, spirometry (breathing function) in addition to cardiovascular and cancer screening
Minor surgical procedures such as stitches for wounds and lesion removal
Onsite counseling with a registered dietitian
Offsite referrals for specialty care
Prescription medication assistance programs are available for patients meeting certain income requirements.

Silver City Health Center provides outreach services through participation in community and school projects, such as sports physicals for Argentine Middle School students and education at El Centro. Silver City Health Center's staff is also involved in collaborative working relationships regarding chronic disease, health promotion and safety, and preventive care with local community partners.
Silver City Health Center is a member of the Wyandotte and Johnson Counties Safety Net Clinic Coalition, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Safety Net Collaborative, the Medical Society of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Specialist Referral Program (Wy/Jo Care).
